E. Gordon Haesloop graduated from the St. John’s University School of Law in 1971 and after a short period in private practice, joined the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office in 1972. There he advanced to the Homicide Unit, where he was one of six individuals who tried murder cases. In a two-year period Mr. Haesloop tried seventeen homicide cases to verdict. Mr. Haesloop was appointed Bureau Chief of the Criminal Court Unit, where he oversaw a staff of eighty Assistant District Attorneys and created the Early Case Assessment Bureau. In 1980 joined Mayor Ed Koch’s administration as Deputy Commissioner of Investigations. In 1986 he partnered with Bower and Gardner, PC focusing on Commercial Litigation and Medical Malpractice. In 1993 he partnered with Bartlett, McDonough and Monaghan, focusing on Commercial Litigation and Products Liability. In 2013 he opened his own practice. He now is a managing attorney for Civil Litigation at the Law Firm of Raiser & Kenniff, PC.

Mr. Haesloop has been practicing law for forty years. All of his experience has been as a litigator and trial attorney. In his years of practice he has trained and mentored numerous associates who have demonstrated their trial skills by becoming seasoned litigators and partners in law firms.

Mr. Haesloop’s experience has focused on both civil and criminal litigation. His federal experience includes working with the US Attorney’s Office in both the Eastern and Southern Districts. Mr. Haesloop has defended individuals and organizations in the same venues.

For the past 28 years Mr. Haesloop has primarily handled civil litigation in state and federal courts both as a plaintiff and defense counsel. He has taken over a hundred verdicts and secured remunerative settlements for his clients. His trials span a wide range of areas of law including but not limited to: negligence, general liability, property damage, high rise construction, employment discrimination and wrongful termination, international disputes between investors and developers, international and domestic defamation cases and First amendment issues, Criminal investigations and prosecutions with international implications, products liability, construction safety and coverage, municipal liability and representation of union disciplinary matters.

·Plaintiff verdict in an employment discrimination case on behalf of two high end officials of NY OTB.

·Plaintiff’s settlement on behalf of a Yonkers police officer with PTSD against Con Edison.

·Third party plaintiff verdict on behalf of a paralyzed roofer against his employer for $28 million affirmed by AD-4 Department.

·A defective product resulting in amputation of a hand settled for $1.2 million.

·Market Share liability defense verdict on behalf of the distributors of hand guns.

·Defense of property damage claim for $68 million by the Cathedral of St. John The Divine, involving a fire. Defense verdict: Jury found not caused by client’s alleged defective product.

·Defense of a manufacturer for a product allegedly causing 159 deaths on a Ski train fire in Kaprun, Austria where demand to settle was $400 million. Case dismissed pre-trial.

·As Deputy Commissioner of Investigations, investigated and prosecuted “Bus Stop Shelter Case,” charges brought by French investor. Resulting in multiple indictments.

·Irish defamation case brought in the United States currently pending for monetary damages of $1 Million, published in Bloomberg News.
